Coach 104
Coach 104 was constructed of wood in 1906 by Crossen
of Coburg, Ontario for the Canadian Northern Railway, and it remained in
service with Canadian Northern, and the successor Canadian National
Railway until it was sold to the Greater Winnipeg Water District Railway
in 1954.
The Vintage Locomotive Society purchased it from G.W.W.D. in 1970.
This coach has been fully restored and it features oak and mahogany
panel interior, leaded windows, pinch gas light fixtures suspended from
the ceiling, separate men's and women's lavatories, a pot bellied coal
stove and a smoking compartment. Coach 104 has a maximum seating
capacity of 59 passengers.
Coach
104 is the only operating example of a Crossen coach.
