Coach 105
Coach 105 was built of wood
in 1901 by Barney and Smith of Dayton, Ohio for Canadian Northern
Railway. It continued in service with Canadian Northern's successor,
Canadian National and was eventually sold to the Greater Winnipeg Water
District Railway in 1954. It was purchased by The Vintage Locomotive
Society from G.W.W.D. in 1970 and has been in service with the Prairie
Dog Central ever since.
This coach, the oldest of the Prairie Dog coach consist, has been fully
restored and it features an arched interior clerestory roof, inlaid
mahogany paneling, a distinctive smoking compartment, separate men's and
women's lavatories, and a pot bellied coal stove. Coach 105 has a
maximum seating capacity of 60 passengers.
