Coach 106
Coach 106 was built of wood
by Canadian Pacific Angus Shops of Montreal, Quebec in 1913. It served
the Canadian Pacific Railway until bought by the Greater Winnipeg Water
District Railway in 1956 and it became the property of The Vintage
Locomotive Society in 1970 as the result of an equipment trade. Coach
106 is the "youngest" coach of the Prairie Dog coach consist and was put
into service with the P.D.C. in 1974 after extensive restoration work.
This coach features mahogany panelling with oak accessories, tinted
glass in the vent windows, separate men's and women's lavatories, spring
loaded roll down blinds on the windows and brass luggage shelves above
the seats running the length of the coach on both sides.
Coach 106 has a maximum seating capacity of 72 passengers.
