The coaches were all
constructed of wood between 1901 and 1913. All were in
active service until about 1950, when they were replaced by
steel and aluminum coaches, because they were cheaper to run
and maintain.
Featuring oak and mahogany panelling, brass
fittings, and pot-bellied coal stoves, these completely
refurbished cars are irreplaceable and are the pride and joy
of the
Prairie Dog Central Railway.
Maintenance is very labour-intensive, and every winter our
Volunteer Members
completely overhaul one of the coaches.
